As a group of 4 adults we went to Semburu, Amboseli, Massai Mara, Athi River, Tsavo Ost und West. John, you were a very attentive, reliable and caring companion. You drew our attention to opposites that we would not have noticed without you. We saw hippos, rhinos, lions, cheetahs, elephant and buffalo herds, wildebest, kudus, etc. and countless different bird species. It is impossible to name them all.
You were willing to contribute personal experiences - especially with regard to the way of life of the Maasai. This was a great enrichment! Thanks for your commitment to all the concerns of the fellow travelers, we were well taken care of during the safari. I also don't want to miss the adventure of our flat tire! We laughed a lot together during our trip. We had the most incredible experience with Phoenix Safaris and our amazing guide, Leonard. Everything from start to finish was absolutely... read more flawless.

While many people in Nairobi insisted on cash payments upfront, we went to the Phoenix Safaris office at Village Market, and it was a completely different experience. The team was professional, welcoming, and efficient. We booked our safari on the spot, paid by card without any issue, and they even helped us arrange and print the online park entry tickets for Amboseli. Everything was smooth, organised, and done with care.

Then came the highlight — our safari with Leonard. He wasn’t just doing his job; he was doing what he truly loves, and it shows in everything he does. He was born for this. Going on safari with him was an experience we will never forget.

He took us everywhere — we saw a lion chasing a zebra, elephants heading to sleep at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, and later, the Kilimanjaro itself in all its glory. At his suggestion, we set off early at 6 a.m. to witness the elephants returning from their nightly rest to drink water — and what a sight it was! Herds and herds of elephants.

We saw gazelles, wildebeest, lions (again the next morning!), camels, zebras, buffaloes, and so much more. The landscapes were breathtaking. We even had breakfast at a beautiful designated spot overlooking a lake scene and the mountains, with the company of beautiful blue birds, absolutely stunning!!!

There wasn’t a single thing we missed — we truly saw it all. And through it all, Leonard knew exactly where to go, showing us the best views and hidden spots. He knows Amboseli like the back of his hand.

If you’re planning a safari, Leonard is the person you want by your side. It was simply unforgettable — a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
