This package puts you in the middle of it — staying at Mara Siria Camp, set on the Oloololo Escarpment above the northern Mara. The escarpment position gives you access to some of the most active crossing points and a perspective over the plains that most camps simply don’t have.
The migration concentrates in the Masai Mara from July to October. Beyond the wildebeest, the Masai Mara is home to Kenya’s Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — with one of the highest predator densities of any reserve in Africa.

Where You Stay: Mara Siria Camp
Mara Siria Camp sits on the Siria (Oloololo) Escarpment — a dramatic ridge on the western edge of the Masai Mara. The camp is small and personal, with 14 tents and 2 cottages, a restaurant, bar, and plunge pool, and open views over the plains below. Animals walk through camp freely. Elephants, hyenas, and the occasional lion have all been known to pass through at night.
It’s not a luxury lodge — it’s a real bush camp, run with genuine care and individual attention. Guides know the terrain and the animals by name. [More information about the camp]

4 Days/ 3 Nights Great Migration Safari Package

Available by air (approx. 45 min from Nairobi Wilson Airport) or road (approx. 6 hours from Nairobi). Full board accommodation at Mara Siria Camp. Shared or private game drives depending on package.  Nights can be extended, and additional destinations added — we’ll build the trip around your dates.

Day 1 — Arrival & First Afternoon
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA, then drive to the Masai Mara (approx. 5–6 hours) or a short 45-minute flight from Wilson Airport. Lunch at camp on arrival. In the afternoon, visit the Mara Conservancy Rhino Sanctuary or join a guided nature walk on the escarpment — a good way to settle in and learn the landscape before the game drives begin. Of course, if you prefer to head straight out on a game drive, that’s possible too. Dinner and overnight at Mara Siria Camp.

Day 2 — Full Day in the Field

Early morning game drive with bush breakfast in the Mara — the best time for predator activity and herd movements. Return to camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive following the wildebeest and watching the river banks for signs of a crossing. Dinner and overnight at Mara Siria Camp.

Day 3 — Full Day Game Drive with Picnic

A full day in the Mara — your best chance to be in position for a river crossing. Your guide will read the herd movements and river levels through the morning. Picnic lunch in the field, in one of the prime spots in the reserve. Return to camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Mara Siria Camp.

Day 4 — Morning Drive & Departure

Optional early morning game drive before departure. Return to Nairobi by road or flight.

Ready to Plan Your Migration Safari?

The Great Migration doesn’t follow a fixed timetable — river crossings can happen several times a day or not at all. The best approach is to be in the right place, with the right guide, and give it time. We’ll help you choose the dates and logistics that give you the best chance.
