Masai MaraMasai Mara

The Masai Mara (which means “the spotted land” in the Masai language) is home to a variety of wildlife and it offers the best chance to see the “Big Five” (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhino) in one park. The world famous "Great Migration" takes place from July to October every year. It is a lifetime experience to witness when thousands of zebras and wildebeests are crossing the Mara River while huge crocodiles wait patiently for their prey in the river. All year round the Masai Mara guarantees spectacular game drives in the breath-taking beautiful landscape of the Masai Mara.

victoriaLake Victoria

Lake Victoria is the largest freshwater lake in Africa, located on the border between Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania; it is the source of the White Nile. The lake is home to the so-called Nile perch, a predator fish that has wiped out all other species in the lake and is now nourished by their own peers. Fishing in this lake has become an important component of the economy in the region.

kakamegaKakamega Rain Forest

The Kakamega Forest is home to many mammals, birds and rare plants that find their application in medicine. About 100 years ago the forest comprised 240 000 square kilometres but it has now diminished in the recent years to one-tenth of its original size. This drastic deforestation is mainly caused by the extraction of firewood and creating of grazing land.
